Review: Tekken the movie

T 7
The movie poster

Just finished Tekken the movie about half an hour ago. I don't put high hope on it as most game based movie turned out to be below par. Well, my guess was correct. Tekken the movie is very disappointing. Possibly some spoilers alert.

T 6
The introduction of the fighters

The storyline is basically Jin Kazama(Jon Foo) entering the Tekken tournament to avenge her mother dead. The summary is like Jin entered the tournament, fight, run, fight again, run even more, fight, kill, and then end of story. So for starter, there are a lot of popular characters not in the movie. No Paul Phoenix, no King, no Armor King, no Jack, no Hworang but character like Miguel Rojo is in the movie. Thumbs down.

T 1
Miguel against Jin in the first round

T 3
Jin and Christie looking on

The movie and the game have two different storyline. In the game, Christie Monteiro(Kelly Overton) is the student of Eddie Gordo(Lateef Crowder) In the movie, they are not related at all. In the game, Christie and Jin are not link in anyway, but in the movie they are somehow romantically link to each other. Nina and Anna Williams (Candice Hillebrand & Marian Zapico) apparently work for Kazuya(Ian Anthony Dale) in the movie. The list goes on and on.

T 5
Guess who is this? Kazuya... NO physical resemblance at all...

T 4
At least both Raven and Eddie looks like their character in the game

I guess the most disappointing part is the fighter's move. In the movie, none of the character's signature move are shown. The only exception is Eddie showing some of his Capoeira skills, but that's all. Come on, Kazuya, Jin and Bryan Futy(Gary Daniels) even fight with weapons... Such a huge difference compare to the game's character.

T 2
Bryan using... bullets as a weapon?

Catch it if you are a die hard Tekken fan, but don't expect it to be decent. There goes another game based movie goes bad...

Predict the World Cup Winner with STYLE!!!!

Two more match in the round of 16 before we enter the quarter finals of the World Cup 2010. As I am typing this, Japan is going against Paraguay. Well, I am supporting Japan in this match. ^_^ Spain against Portugal will follows will be the last group 16 match.

Now, Spain and Portugal can be consider as football power house thus it is predicted to be an evenly match up between them. Lots of people have their own opinions on which team will win and why. Among all, this particular predict amused me...

Spot anything hmmm?

WHAT BOUT NOW!?!?!?

That's right folks. Apparently having good looking players will leads the team to the final. I wonder how the hell England and Italy were already eliminated so early... Steven Gerrard and Daniel De Rossi not good looking enough I guess. Next time they should find models from their respective countries to join the World Cup then. XP

World Cup 2010 - The Final Group Stage match

Here we are down to the final group match in World Cup 2010. Well, aside from Portugal thrashing North Korea 7-0, what is more shocking is the seeded teams are not doing well in their group. Only Brazil, Argentina and Holland have won both the games they played. What happened to the likes of England, France, Italy, Spain and Germany?

Apparently, Vuvuzela is part of the South African's culture

Well, some teams blame it on the Vuvuzela. The stadium is buzzing with the sound of Vuvuzela up to the extend that teams are blaming the it as the main cause that they couldn't hear or give any instruction to teammates. Even the viewers at home are complaining about the annoying bees buzzing sound when they are watching the match live. Players from Spain uses this excuse when they loss the match to Switzerland.

The official Adidas World Cup 2010 football, Jabulani

Jabulani might be the cause of it too. No, its not some native South African food. Its the name that is given to the ball use in the World Cup 2010. Players are complaining its hard to control the ball and the feel is just like those cheapo football they can get at a very cheap price in the market. This might be the reason why England's Robert Green couldn't get a grip on the ball well enough until it cost England the match.

Referee will plays a huge part in the match outcome

I did watch the match between Germany and Serbia. What I wanna say is... What a poor officiating game it was. The referee for the match, Alberto Undiano Mallenco brandished 8 yellow cards and a red card. That's an average of 1 card for every 10 minutes. Now, whenever player have the slightest contact with the opponent he will without fail book the player. Nearing the end of the second half, there's some hard foul that really deserve a yellow card but he just give it a foul. Talking about double standard.

Casillas feeling dejected after the match against Switzerland

Well, those are reason are still within the acceptable range. You wanna know what is some strange thing that people blame for the losses? They blame the player's girlfriend. In the Spain loss, it is reported that the Iker Casillas's girlfriend was at the front row covering the story hence distracting his concentration. @_@ People will go to that extend to find a reason on what causes the team to loss.

 South Korea all the way!!!

Anyway, all the best to the teams tonight. I am a supporter for South Korea by the way, I hope they will make it to the second round. If you think I am supporting Korea just because of silly reason like Girl's Generation, Wonder Girls or After School originate from there, YOU ARE WRONG!!! I have always been a supporter of South Korea, Sweden and Scotland. Since the latter two didn't make it, I am supporting Korea all the way!
